“And I feel like if someone really feels Kanye is insane, they’re crazy,” he said.

Rick Ross believes Kanye West is a marketing genius — especially after the release of his latest album Donda.

On Tuesday (Sept. 7), the “Aston Martin Music” emcee made a virtual appearance on “Today” while promoting his new book “The Perfect Day to Boss Up: A Hustler’s Guide to Building Your Empire” and he spoke about how he believes his longtime friend will get the last laugh. “Kanye has mastered the art of manipulating media and making amazing music,” he said. “And That combination, it’s no telling where it will go. And I feel like if someone really feels Kanye is insane, they’re crazy.”

In a chapter of his book, Rozay spoke about how West previously invited him to meet at a studio in Atlanta where he operated his apparel lines and presidential campaign. The Port of Miami 2 rapper learned that Ye’s entire presidential run was solely done for publicity.

“All of this shit was for attention, and it didn’t really matter if it was positive or negative attention because his brand grew either way,” Ross wrote in the book. “That’s why he liked Donald Trump. That’s why he loved the Kardashians. It all made sense now.”

Although he’s realized that West does a lot of things for attention — whether it be good or bad — the two have remained close friends. Most recently, Ross attended both of the Chicago rapper’s listening parties in Atlanta. “It wasn’t about the actual sound, but the presentation,” Ross told USA Today. “That a young Black artist pulled this off, and to listen to his creativity, that was groundbreaking. I can’t not acknowledge it.”

Last month, Rozay weighed in on the ongoing feud between Drake and West saying that he loved the competition and both artists were “two levels of creativity inspiring each other.”
