Rihanna is celebrating the successful launch of her new Fenty fragrance after the highly anticipated perfume sold out in less than 24 hours. The beauty mogul’s latest venture, Fenty Eau de Parfum, became available early on Tuesday morning (Aug. 10) and quickly went out of stock.
“How I woke up after #FENTYPARFUM sold out this morning!!!” RiRi captioned an Instagram post yesterday of herself enjoying caviar in bed.
According to The Source, Fenty Eau de Parfum went for $120 a bottle and only Rihanna fans who signed up to be notified about its release were able to purchase the in-demand fragrance.
A Fenty Beauty press release described the perfume as “spicy and sweet all at once” and said it was inspired by Rihanna’s favorite cities: Bridgetown, Barbados; Grasse and Paris, France; New York City and Los Angeles. The Fenty Beauty website further described the fragrance as featuring “notes of magnolia, musk, tangerine, blueberry, Bulgarian rose absolute, patchouli and geranium.”
“What began as a garden walk in the global center of perfume became an unapologetic expression of my full and true essence,” Rihanna said about the perfume’s creation. “The experience begins as soon as you lay eyes on the bottle. This reminds me of everywhere I’ve been and represents all that I am.”
“This isn’t about a fantasy—I wanted to experience truth,” she added. “Fenty Eau de Parfum is for remembering what’s real. I made a fragrance for myself and am now sharing it with you.”
Ahead of the product’s rollout, Rihanna posted a compilation video of various celebrities — including Lil Nas X, Cardi B, Jennifer Lawrence and more — praising her signature scent.
“Just sayin’…” she captioned the post.
The successful perfume launch arrives just days after Rihanna cemented her billionaire status, as reported by Forbes. Last week, the finance outlet confirmed the global superstar is worth an estimated $1.7 billion.
