A White House staff member and former Texas state representative are suing the Donald Trump-supporting drivers who allegedly harassed a Joe Biden campaign bus last October. As reported by REVOLT, members of the “Trump Train” followed and got dangerously close to the bus while on a Texas highway.

According to the lawsuit filed on Thursday (June 24), Biden’s campaign workers are accusing the drivers of engaging in “coordinated, illegal political intimidation in violation of the Ku Klux Klan Act.” White House staffer David Gins, former Texas state Sen. Wendy Davis, former Biden campaign volunteer Eric Cervini and the campaign bus driver Timothy Holloway filed the suit.

“They played a madcap game of highway ‘chicken,’ coming within three to four inches of the bus,” the complaint reads. “They tried to run the bus off the road.”

The lawsuit also claims the Trump supporters “terrorized and menaced the driver and passengers on the Biden-Harris Campaign bus” for at least 90 minutes, forced the bus to slow down and swerved in front of it in an effort to block its path. As a result of the intimidation, the campaign workers say they were forced to cancel their events in San Marcos and Austin, Texas. The suit claims the incident violated the Ku Klux Klan Act, which was passed by Congress in 1871 to prevent coordinated attempts of voter intimidation.

The drivers were identified in the lawsuit as Eliazar Cisneros, Hannah Ceh, Joeylynn Mesaros, Robert Mesaros, Dolores Park and two other unnamed people. So far, none of them have been charged with any crimes.

The complaint also alleges that some of the Trump supporters involved in the incident were also present for the Jan. 6 Capitol attack.

“Though I’ve been involved in many political campaigns for myself and others over the past couple of decades, I have never before experienced the threat or fear I felt when the ‘Trump Train’ surrounded our bus,” Sen. Davis told CNN. “I’m a part of this suit because I’m worried that this sort of dangerous behavior threatens to become the new normal if we don’t stop it.”
