Pop Smoke fans won’t have to wait much longer for the late rap star’s next posthumous effort. On Wednesday (June 23), Pop’s managers announced that his new, currently untitled album will be dropping July 16.

On Instagram, Steven Victor teased the upcoming project with a trailer featuring Pop. In the clip, the Brooklynite talks about his New York upbringing and plans to be legendary.

“I always knew I was gonna be something great. I feel like it’s coming back to New York,” he said. “When you keep winning, nothing can stop you. The fake can never succeed.”

“When you know what you want, don’t ever let nobody get in between you and your creation,” he added. “We gotta make history.”

The announcement arrives after Pop’s manager Rico Beats suggested that the album was “95 percent” done. The reportedly 17-track record will serve as the follow-up to Pop’s first posthumous album, Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 last year.

Furthermore, every song on the album entered the Hot 100 chart. Pop also became the first rapper to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 posthumously and joined the likes of The Notorious B.I.G., Tupac and XXXTentacion by going No. 1 after his death.

Aside from the upcoming album, Quavo recently revealed that he and Pop were in the early stages of recording a joint project together last year.

“I had a relationship with Pop Smoke; [Migos] had a relationship with Pop Smoke, and it was just important,” Quavo said on Real 92.3. Pop appeared on Migos’  Culture III track, “Light It Up.”

“We had so many records [that] me and him was ‘bout to make an album,” Quavo added. “So, I just felt like I had to put Pop on [Culture III]. Rest in peace to my dawg, Pop. We just made so much good music. Us on a New York drill beat is just like magic.”
