First week projections for Lil Baby and Lil Durk’s The Voice of the Heroes predict the joint album will land in the no. 1 spot on the Hits Top 50 chart as well as the US Billboard 200 chart.

Hits Daily Double is predicting The Voice of the Heroes album will debut with 165,000 – 185,000 album-equivalent units with 4,000 – 7,000 pure album sales. Durk’s last solo studio album The Voice debuted at number 46 on the US Billboard 200 chart, earning 23,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. In its second week, the album rose to number three on the chart with an additional 66,000 units.

Baby’s album My Turn debuted atop the US Billboard 200 earning 197,000 album-equivalent units. It was the “Whoa” rapper’s first number one album. The Voice of the Heroes is slated to be his second.

The 18-track album features appearances by Meek Mill, Rod Wave, Young Thug and Travis Scott. London on da Track, Wheezy, Turbo, Murda Beatz and ATL Jacob among others produced songs. Brooklyn Nets superstar James Harden served as an executive producer. In a statement released the same day the album dropped, Harden discussed his love for music and how the album ultimately came together.

From the beginning, I’ve had a passion for basketball and music has always went hand and hand with it,” Harden said. “It drives me on the daily to continue to be the best at what I do, to always strive for more. I see that same passion in Lil Baby and Lil Durk and can honestly I say I’m a true fan.”

“The initial idea was to get the two together to make a few songs. But with their work ethic and undeniable talent here we are,” he added. “From late nights in my studio in Houston, the two of them being by my side as I transitioned from Houston to New York it was truly an honor to watch them in their element. Countless hours in the studio watching them create was an absolute privilege to say the least.”

Thus far, the dynamic duo has released music videos for the title track “Voice of the Heroes” and “How It Feels.” In an interview with MTV in March, Baby spoke about his connection with Durkio. “Me and Durk locked in every night. That’s the new one. We coming. Me and Durk dropping an album for sure,” Baby said before revealing the album’s title. “When it comes to that street shit that hood shit, we like the heroes. The kids look at us as heroes.”
