Cordae is celebrating the erasure of a felony charge he picked up while demanding justice for Breonna Taylor. On Wednesday (April 28), The Lost Boy emcee took to Twitter to thank his lawyer for helping in getting a felony dropped from his criminal record.

My felony finally got expunged today. S/O to my lawyer,” he penned in his tweet.

Cordae previously faced a Felony D charge of intimidating a participant in the legal process after he and over 80 protesters were arrested during a Breonna Taylor demonstration. At the time, he, Trae tha Truth, Mysonne and Until Freedom’s Tamika Mallory were among the many people who chose to demand justice for Taylor outside of Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron’s home.

The purpose of the demonstration, like many others, was to request that Cameron charge Brett Hankinson, Jonathan Mattingly and Myles Cosgrove for their role in the 26-year-old’s horrific death.

“The protestors chose to occupy the front yard of a home owned by the Kentucky Attorney General and continuously chant towards he and his neighbors. At his request, they were trespassed from the property,” read a statement from a spokesperson for the Louisville Police Department. “All were given the opportunity to leave, were told that remaining on the property would be unlawful and chose not to leave.”

Per reports, a total of 87 people were arrested after the protest and charged with the Class D Felony as well as the Class B misdemeanor charge of second-degree disorderly conduct and the violation of third-degree criminal trespass.

Though Cordae recently announced the news of his expunction, a previous report from NBC News revealed that the felony charges against all protestors were dropped in July “in the interest of justice and the promotion of the free exchange of ideas.” It is not clear what the status of the misdemeanor charge is.

Cordae’s arrest came months before Cameron revealed neither of the three men would be charged for Taylor’s murder. Mattingly, however, was indicted on three counts of wanton endangerment for blindly shooting into Taylor’s apartment.
