Earlier this month, Ghetts made an immediate argument for album of the year with Conflict of Interest, a 16-track masterpiece that saw additional contributions from Jaykae, Moonchild Sanelly, Skepta, Ed Sheeran, Emeli Sandé, Stormzy, Dave, and many more. In addition to the new body of work and its incredible rollout before hand, the East London legend also made his third appearance on Charlie Sloth’s “Fire In The Booth” series, taking to the Dubai desert to deliver some of his hardest bars to date.

Even after all of this awesomeness, this week sees a short drop titled “T[H]ANK GOD,” which is produced by Ten Billion Dreams and sees Ghetts rapping about his current blessings and the journey it’s taken him to reach this point:

“Remind myself how far I’ve come, and I’m far from done, room full of IC3s, but I am the darkest one, apart from Usain and dem man dere, you ain’t seen no run like this, campaign rollout, never been done like this, I’m backstage with the same bruddas that I was frontline with/”

Directed by Saoud Khalaf, the accompanying black-and-white visual shows Ghetts riding around through the streets of London on top of an actual tank — hence the song’s clever title. Make no mistake, to see a veteran emcee continue to bless his fans with top quality art like this is absolutely unmatched.

After a hard-fought battle on the UK Album charts, Conflict of Interest makes its debut at the number two spot, bested by Mogwai’s As The Love Continues by a mere 2,900 album equivalent units sold during the projects’ first week of release. Hopefully, the masses are all continuing the march to give Ghetts’ a proper, well-deserved number one during the current sales run.
