A Texas man who traveled to Washington D.C. to storm the U.S. Capitol with other pro-Trump supporters allegedly threatened to shoot his children if they talked to the FBI about his trip.

According to the New York Post, Guy Reffitt’s wife told FBI authorities that he threatened his son and daughter during an argument they had about his involvement in the riots. “If you turn me in, you’re a traitor and you know what happens to traitors … traitors get shot,” Reffitt, who reportedly has ties with a right-wing militia group, allegedly said to his kids. He then allegedly told his wife that he was “trying to protect the family, and if someone was a traitor then that’s what’s going to happen.”

Reffitt was eventually tracked down and arrested by authorities after footage of him at the U.S. Capitol during the riots surfaced on Fox News and YouTube. Investigators also found that he had made a previous comment on a website for the Texas Freedom Force, which is a known militia extremist group.

During his Jan. 15 arrest, authorities found a Smith & Wesson pistol and an AR-15 style rifle. Reffitt was hit with an obstruction of justice charge for his participation in the Jan. 6 Capitol riots. He admitted that he brought the pistol along with him during his drive from Texas to D.C.

Several other people have been arrested following their involvement in the riots, which left five people dead, including a Capitol Police officer who was hit in the head with a fire extinguisher.

The FBI is still asking the public for help identifying other men and women who participated in the storming of the Capitol. Authorities are asking for tips on Riley June Williams, who reportedly walked out of the Capitol building with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s laptop or hard drive and is in cahoots with Russian intelligence.
