As soon as the ball dropped, Atlanta’s very own KEY! teamed up with Brooklyn-bred producer Tony Seltzer to deliver their newest joint project The Alpha Jerk. Along with the release came the official video for “My Puppy,” the third track off the project which sees KEY! sliding over production from Selzer:

Damn, ayy, it’s overwhelming. Before we fuckin’ ride I need that head just like a helmet. Damn, I thought we had an understanding. This n***as monkey and you’re Jasmine, and I slide, Aladdin. I’m in love—no I’m not! They left me outside so you know I’m fuckin’ rotten. Okay, now I think I’m Stanley. Double it’s the casket for the dead man. Okay, I’m just tryna focus. Johnny Depp geekin’, I’m smokin’ Fear and Loathing. Ayy, thick bitch that I’m with mixed with a pony. Thick bitch that I’m with- Wear my shirt, spend the night. Wear my shirt, spend the night.

The “My Puppy” video follows KEY! through the city as it flips between him riding around, spitting the verse on a roof top, and walking through the local corner store. The Alpha Jerk is equipped with 17 songs in total and sees guest features from names like Lil Yachty, Sonny Digital, 448rasta, and Quadie Diesel. His last full-length project prior to this was 2020’s I Love You Say It Back, a 10-track body of work with a sole guest feature from Bobby Raps.

Tony Seltzer dropped off two projects in 2020, Avenues with A Lau and Heat Check Vol. 2 with WiFiGawd. The latter project is the second installment of a series born in 2018. Avenues boasted a cool mix of guest verses from names like Slayter, Jay Critch, Princess Nokia, Vinny Fanta, Rah Swish, and plenty more.
