In September, Action Bronson unveiled his fifth studio album Only For Dolphins, which featured “Mongolia,” the Hologram and Meyhem Lauren-assisted cut produced by Action Bronson himself. The Queens emcee now drops the official visual for the song, and in his verse, he includes several references including one for another one of his projects:

David Caruso couldn’t connect the story, solve the puzzle. His favorite murder weapon was a shovel. It’s the jefe (Uh), Spanish women all over my body like I’m Machete holmesAll I do is write these essay poеmsLet’s get dusted at thе Mets game holmes. Like sixteen handles, catch me swirlin’ in the left lane home. I don’t even got my left leg on. Tryna dance tonight. This ain’t your language, that I seen wrapped up my hands in ice. Me and my brother go together just like lamb and rice.

Leading up to the release of Only For Dolphins, Action shared cuts like “Latin Grammys” and “Golden Eye.” The project follows last year’s EP Lamb Over Rice, which was entirely produced by The Alchemist. Prior to that, Bronson released 2018’s White Bronco, his first independent release since his departure from Vice/Atlantic — that project saw 11 tracks and assists from Lauren, A$AP Rocky, Big Body Bes, and Yung Mehico. This year, he can also be heard on projects like The Alchemist’s The Food Villain and Willie The Kid’s Capital Gains.

Recently, Bronson shared a some words about the meaning behind the album’s intriguing title:

“The dolphin is one of the most intelligent creatures ever created on whatever planet we’re on … They have their own way of communicating. They have nuance and intangibles like we do. The only people who understand me are those five-tool players, those higher beings who are on the same telepathic wave as me.”
