A$AP Rocky responded to fans on Monday (June 1) who accused the rapper of not being involved in protesting efforts against the recent police killings of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. The A$AP Mob rapper explained that while he has been involved in activism efforts, he doesn’t like to share his involvement on social media or for the “photo opps.”
“WE PROTESTED N DEEZ STREETS, NO PRESS ,NO CAMERAS ,NO INSTAGRAM .NOT 4 NO BRAGGIN RIGHTS OR PHOTO OPPS,” Rocky tweeted on Monday (June 1). “SH*T WAS JUST GENUINE.”
He also opened up about his own protesting experiences, adding that during the nationwide protesting “4 ONCE ITS LIKE DA WHOLE SHARED THE SAME PAIN.”
“I DONT POST MY EVERY MOVE, NOT MY THING BUT WE FAR FROM SILENT N ITS STILL FUK12!” he concluded.
Despite not posting his protesting efforts on his own social channels, a photo of him spray painting “Fu*k 12” was posted by AWGE’s Instagram account — a creative agency that he founded.
