It looks like Tierra Whack could be building up momentum toward a new body of work. Following her show-stealing appearance on Lil Yachty’s “T.D” and last month’s single “Dora,” the Philly star reveals two new cuts titled “feel good” and “Peppers and Onions.”

The shorter of the two, “feel good,” sees production from Kenete Simms and J Melodic and features Whack working through some real feelings within:

“Why would I lie and say I feel good, when I don’t feel good? All I really want is to be happy and truly feel good, I got everybody lookin’ at me like, “Why she don’t feel good?”/

While more upbeat in vibe thanks to beatmaking duo Pop & Oak, “Peppers and Onions” keeps us in the realm of Whack’s mental health, as she raps about dealing with the blunt realities of fame and celebrity while wanting to live a normal life like everyone else.

Aside from 2018’s breakthrough Whack World and the occasional guest appearances alongside Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, and the aforementioned Yachty, Tierra Whack has spent much of her still young career dropping loose, memorable singles like “Toe Jam,” “Mumbo Jumbo,” “Only Child,” “Gloria,” and “Unemployed.” Last year also saw her join the likes of Rico Nasty, Gunna, Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby, Blueface, and Roddy Ricch as part of the XXL Freshman class, further exposing her talents both within hip hop and beyond.

In a past interview with REVOLT, Whack spoke on what she wanted listeners to receive from her music:

“I just want them to feel, to know, that it’s okay to feel a certain way. That’s why for awhile I was anti-social because I felt like no one really understood, or wanted to understand, where I was coming from. That’s why I started writing, to express myself.”

Press play on both “feel good” and “Peppers and Onions” below.
