Dallas rapper Dr. Rose was shot late last week in what preceded a weekend of shocking gun violence. Rose was shot during an attempted robbery on Thursday (Nov. 12), but, according to his Instagram post, is thankfully in recovery.

“On Thursday, November 12th, I was shot multiple times while leaving my office,” the rap artist wrote. “I am very grateful to be able to say that I am recovering well with my family. I will be taking some time to focus on my recovery during this time.”

According to local NBC affiliate KXAS-TV, Rose — who also works as a dentist — was leaving his dental office around 9 p.m. when armed robbers approached the building.

Rose and two other victims checked themselves into the hospital after the incident for their gunshot wounds. Police say their vehicle was riddled with bullets.

“My office staff is working on reaching out to my patients to update them on next steps,” Rose’s post continued. “I want to thank everyone who prayed for me and my family, and to DALLAS for always showing me love no matter what.”

Rose was the second Dallas rapper to be shot last week. Mo3 was tragically killed on Wednesday (Nov. 11), which Rose noted in his post.

“My situation is completely unrelated to death of Mo3, in fact I’m a fan of Mo3,” he wrote. “It hurts my heart to think a small portion of my city would think that I would join in on the controversy.”

No arrests have been made in either shooting, but Mo3’s manager, Brandon Rainwater, told KXAS-TV he does not believe the two incidents are connected.

We at REVOLT wish Dr. Rose a speedy recovery. See his full post below.
