Although there’s reportedly another official video on the way, Wande Coal decided to share a short film style visual for his hit “Again (Remix)” to hold fans over until he and Wale can join forces to film the video for one of Wande’s most successful hits.

The plot-driven video follows a couple as it shows the story of a sour love triangle. It is directed by Adasa Cookey, who also directed the original “Again” video, which has garnered over 3 million views since its release. In a statement about the new short film, he says the inspiration came from a specific line from the song that he felt deserved more attention.

“The short film for Wande Coal’s ‘Again (Remix)’ explores love, friendship and betrayal,” Cookey says. “The narrative was inspired by one of the strongest lines in the song: ‘No mind them. Them dey lie to you. Them talk sey me I no good for you.’ For me, the line hits on a subject that is often not discussed.”

The Nigerian Afropop star released his newest EP Realms in September. Wale is one of two features on Wande Coal’s new project, alongside Sarz who appears on “Vex.” In addition to working with some of the the biggest stars in Africa, the Nigerian producer is also known for his collaborations with Beyoncé, Drake (“One Dance”), Skepta (“Energy”), and Chris Brown (Wizkid’s “African Bas Gyal”).

Wale’s last full-length project, Wow… That’s Crazy, was released in 2019 and included features from Rick Ross, Meek Mill, Kelly Price, Ari Lennox, and plenty more. More recently, he dropped off a six-track EP in June titled The Imperfect Storm. Wale was also recently featured on a single from another Nigerian artist, “A Million” by DMV-based singer Mannywellz.
