Lil Nas X is taking his talents to the fashion industry. The Grammys Award-winning artist has collaborated on an upcoming collection with British fashion designer Christian Cowan that not only rocks bold colors and 70’s punk looks, but will also support the Black LGBTQ+ community. According to Vogue, 100 percent of the clothing capsule’s profits will benefit Black queer youth in Atlanta, Lil Nas’ hometown, through the Loveland Foundation.

“The trans community — especially the Black trans community — is one of the most looked down upon groups in the entire world and the least cared for,” Lil Nas told Vogue.

“There’s been so many attacks on the trans community, even within the past few months, and it’s not publicized enough in the US,” Cowan added during their interview. “People forget that the entire Pride movement was started by Black trans women.”

The collection was unveiled as a digital submission to New York Fashion Week and will be available to shop next spring exclusively on FWRD.com. Vogue notes that the line includes everything from ball gowns to punk-rock graphic tees. The items are also non-binary, meaning they aren’t created for any specific gender.

“[Christian’s] looks are so in between the sexes; I like how he’s so free with it,” Lil Nas said of Cowan’s design style.

The pair first were first brought together for the 2019 VMAs. Cowan styled Lil Nas in the eye-catching silver, bedazzled suit he wore before taking home two awards for “Old Town Road (Remix).”

“Nas and I both saw the opportunity do something incredible together,” Cowan said in a statement. “Especially as personal fans of the work Rachel Cargle does with the Loveland Foundation, it felt like a natural partnership.”

The collection’s visual showcase featured a wide range of models, activists and singers sporting hair spikes, leather fits and bold prints. Check out some clips and photos from the showcase below.
