Earlier this month, Big Sean liberated his fifth studio album Detroit 2, his official sequel to 2012’s Detroit. That project contains 21 tracks and a wealth of assists from Dom Kennedy, Nipsey Hussle, Post Malone, Ty Dolla $ign, Jhené Aiko, Dave Chappelle, Anderson .Paak, Wale, Young Thug, Travis Scott, a large collective of Sean’s Detroit hip hop peers, and more. Following visuals for “Harder Than My Demons” and “Lithuania,” the G.O.O.D. Music star returns with another for “ZTFO” (Zen The F*** Out),” which sees production from Spanish Josh, Rogét Chahayed, Teddy Walton, No I.D., and Cool N Dre. As the clip brings to life in the most peaceful ways possible, the track is a lesson in self-care, complete with bars about removing negative energy and meditating:

“Have you been down? You stayed up all night? Sleep deprived, but wake up alright, f*** it, you gotta be tired, I done survived things I shouldn’t survive…/”

Recently, Big Sean has also found additional reason to celebrate his new LP, as he’s earned himself his third number one on the Billboard 200 thanks to 103,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week of release. This accomplishment is also impressive because it effectively ended Taylor Swift’s six-week reign for her latest release Folklore.

In support of Detroit 2, Big Sean has also been on a high-profile media run, and has used the various platforms to speak on the important of mental health. During the week of the album’s release, he displayed a surprising level of transparency via social media:

“I don’t feel like this currently, but I had never gone through wanting to kill myself, give up on my life until the past few years and I didn’t realize how important it was to embrace the ups n downs of life and enjoy (in joy) taking active steps to better it. it’s the Journey!”
