Cardi B files for divorce from Offset after three years of marriage
She is asking for primary custody of their 2-year-old daughter Kulture.
Cardi B has filed for divorce from Offset after only three years of marriage, according to multiple reports.
On Tuesday (Sep. 15), the “Bodak Yellow” rapper filed court documents in Fulton County, Georgia. According TMZ, Cardi is asking for primary custody of the couple’s 2-year-old daughter Kulture Kiari. She is also asking for the Migos rapper to pay child support in an unspecified amount. The outlet also reports that Cardi and Offset have been separated and she listed the marriage as “irreconcilable.”
The hip hop pair secretly wed in 2017 and later revealed their marital status to the public after Offset was involved in multiple cheating scandals.
In a 2018 interview with Cosmopolitan, Cardi opened up about the infidelity and why she decided to stay. “I know I look good, I know I’m rich, I know I’m talented. I know I could get any man I want — any basketball player, football player,” she said. “But I want to work out my shit with my man, and I don’t got to explain why.”
She continued, “I’m not your property. This is my life … I’m going to take my time, and I’m going to decide on my decision,” she added. “It’s not right, what he fucking did — but people don’t know what I did, ‘cause I ain’t no angel.”
