To celebrate the success of their recent collaboration “WAP,” Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion are giving back to their fans. On Wednesday afternoon (Aug. 19), the hashtag #WAPParty began trending on Twitter as the two MCs committed to sending funds to other “powerful women.”

“Y’all made #WAP amazing!!” Cardi tweeted. “We’re partnering with Twitter and Cash App to give away a total of $1 million dollars to celebrate all you powerful women out there. tell us why you or a woman you know can use a piece of the $.”

Megan tweeted a similar message, writing, “To all everyone supporting #WAP we see you!! We’re partnering with Twitter and Cash App to celebrate all the powerful women out there by giving away a total of $1 million dollars. How can some $ help you or a woman you know right now?”

To qualify, female fans tweeted short bios about themselves and included the #WAPParty hashtag and their Cash App account names.

“I’m a single mother of 2 and a teacher in the School District [of] Philadelphia for 17 years!” one fan wrote. “This money would make my life a little easier!”

“I just started a business. Yall know how hard that is. In a pandemic. Whew,” another tweeted.

According to Cardi and Megan’s tweets, the pair will send out $500 payments to selected fans up to $1 million. The campaign ends tomorrow (Aug. 20).

“WAP” made history this week after logging the most streams in a debut week ever. The collaboration also landed the biggest streaming week of the year and has already been certified Gold by the RIAA. The track marks Cardi’s fourth No. 1 single — extending her legacy as the female rapper with the most No. 1 hits — and Megan’s second song to go No. 1.
