Warner Records has announced a mysterious Mac Miller tribute project that fans can be a part of. In a statement released to Twitter on Tuesday (July 21), the record label shared a few details about the upcoming release.

“Mac Miller’s team is working on an untitled project to celebrate Malcom and his music,” the statement read. “His art touched so many lives, in so many ways.”

Fans are encouraged to contribute to the upcoming effort by sharing their memories of Miller and his music. A telephone number has been set up so that fans can dial-in and leave their thoughts via voicemail.

“A toll-free phone number has been set up to collect your stories, thoughts and wishes as part of this project. Your offerings are deeply appreciated,” the statement adds.

So far, Warner hasn’t revealed whether the project will be an album, single, documentary or something else entirely. Earlier this year, Miller’s camp released his first posthumous album, Circles. The Pittsburgh native was in the middle of recording the feature-less LP before his death in 2018. According to a statement from his family, Circles was created as a companion project to Miller’s Grammys-nominated Swimming and was finished by his frequent collaborator Jon Brion.

“We are eternally grateful to Jon and to those who gave their best to the difficult and emotional task of putting out this body of work,” his family said.

“We simply know that it was important to Malcom for the world to hear [Circles]. Thank you to all of the fans who’ve supported him unconditionally through the years,” they continued. “We are left to imagine where Malcom was going and to appreciate where he was. We hope you take the time to listen. The look on his face when everyone was listening said it all.”

Circles debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and was followed by a deluxe version, which featured two new songs. See Warner’s announcement about the upcoming project below and find out how to contribute here.
