Last month, Polo G dropped off his second studio album The GOAT, which boasts 16 tracks from the Chicago emcee and additional appearances from Mustard, the late Juice WRLD, Lil Baby, Stunna 4 Vegas, NLE Choppa, and more. Commercially, The GOAT is on course to be his most successful yet — the project earned Polo G his highest spot ever on the Billboard 200, peaking at number two with 99 album equivalent units sold. Following visuals for “Go Stupid,” “33,” and “Wishing For A Hero,” Polo unveils a new clip for “21,” which is produced by Khaled Rohaim and Keanu Beats and sees the “Pop Out” rapper talking about streets, fame, and celebrating his 21st birthday:

“Ever since I stepped up in this game, I’ve been a bomb threat, I was in the trenches, tryna see a life beyond that/

’Cause complacent n***as usually die up in they complex, n***a, where I’m from, they turn death into a contest/

Livin’ by the gun, put all my trust into this compact, my n***as went to war, but they ain’t get no Vietnam check/

Lil’ bro want his head, he tryna make his brains ooze, lil’ b***h, I’m from the Northside where they raise goons…/”

The accompanying video comes courtesy of Cole Bennett and Lyrical Lemonade, and shows Polo G from his bedroom to a prison block, all while a hooded gunman fires bullets at him throughout. At the end, the gunman is revealed to be Polo himself as horns grow from his head, referencing The GOAT’s album artwork.

Recently, Polo G performed the track live with Genius as part of their “Open Mic At Home” series, which sees the mask-wearing emcee giving a dope rendition in front of his well-deserved certification plaques.

Fans can press play on both Polo G’s “21” visual and at-home performance below.
