After moths of social media hints, Polo G has officially announced his upcoming sophomore album The Goat and revealed that the project will arrive on May 15.

“5/15…Click the link in my bio For presale,” the Chicago native wrote on Instagram, along with the album’s cover art.

According to a press release, The Goat will include Polo’s previously released cuts “DND” and his Stunna 4 Vegas and NLE Choppa collaboration “Go Stupid,” both of which received visual treatments earlier this year. Although no additional features have been revealed, the release also notes that Hit-Boy, Mustard, Mike WiLL Made-It, Tay Keith and Murda Beatz will provide production.

The Goat will serve as the follow-up to Polo’s Gold-certified 2019 debut, Die A Legend. Spanning across 14 tracks, the effort included assists from Lil Baby, Gunna and Lil Tjay, who famously contributed to Polo’s breakout hit, “Pop Out.”

“With my music and being so intentional with it, I feel like a lot of us from Chicago got the same story just told from a different perspective,” he told HipHopDX about the album last year. “I feel like I tell it from the perspective of the pain that I endured and from the standpoint that I went through the same thing.”

“I’m fighting through the same thing daily and you can get through it too,” he continued. “I feel like I tell a lot of truth and pain in my music but I also try to be an inspiration that you can do this.”

While Die A Legend told stories of Polo’s struggles and emotional turmoil, the release describes The Goat as “a celebration of life and legacy.”

Polo has been longtime advocate for his hometown, both through his music and philanthropy. Back in February, the 21-year-old rapper partnered with Audiomack for the “Hometown Heroes” benefit concert, which took place over Chicago’s NBA All-Star Weekend.

Proceeds from the event — which saw performances by G Herbo, Calboy, Dreezy, NLE Choppa, Tink and more — went toward local youth-based programs, such as Polo’s AAU Boys Basketball Team, adolescent mental health nonprofit Erika’s Lighthouse and The Boys & Girls Club of Chicago.

“The purpose of the Concert For A Cause is to give back to my city,” Polo had shared in a press statement. “I remember struggling with my own issues. I didn’t have anyone to talk to. I want to help the youth in Chicago any way I can because I was once in the same shoes.”
