DaniLeigh recruits Fivio Foreign for “Dominican Mami”
The Miami star tries her hand at a drill-inspired cut.
Back in March, DaniLeigh made a big entry into 2020 with her single “Levi High,” which features assistance from DaBaby. Now, the Dominican-American artist returns with a new cut titled “Dominican Mami,” a drill-inspired cut that features Fivio Foreign, who’s considered the current frontrunner of the Brooklyn drill hip hop scene. The track is produced by MoneyEvery and Xavi and sees the collaborators rapping about sex, haters, and living the wild life overall:
“Even my game like Atari, he want Minaj like Safaree, I cook the beef like hibachi, I got a pound of biscotti, yeah/
I can see that they jealous, moon walking, Margielas, VVS on my tennis, I broke his heart, it’s my fetish/
Shawty a bird, feathers, hate when she sees us together, this and the third dead it, I buy a foreign, you rent it, I don’t do nothin’ for credit/
I don’t do nothin’ for clout, they tryna see what I’m ‘bout, shut up, I’ll sit on your mouth, bitch, I’m a queen, so just give me some crown/”
“It’s a whole movie, like, it got 16 tracks on it, it’s literally like, start to finish is my entire story of me loving a liar. So the album is called Loved A Liar, i loved a liar (laughs)… I’m gonna do so many interviews, and they’re gonna be like, ‘who’s this person?’ And I’m gonna be like, ‘y’all can try to figure it out.’ But I’m a super low-key person. It’s dope though, it goes from that to me loving somebody else that’s, you know, was a superstar too.”
You can press play on “Dominican Mami” below. There was a tour in promotion of Loved A Liar that was meant to take place this month — hopefully, the current pandemic will subside and allow fans to see DaniLeigh live sooner than later.
