Trippie Redd is giving back to the healthcare professionals in his hometown and across the country. On Thursday (May 14), it was announced that the A Love Letter To You 4 rapper had partnered with beverage companies Purity Organic and Sweet Leaf Tea to donate over 30,000 organic drinks to hospital workers in his hometown of Canton, OH; New York City and Los Angeles.

In a press release, Trippie explained that the donation was his way of helping out amidst the ongoing pandemic.

“This is my way of giving back to the healthcare workers who are working so hard to help people fight off Coronavirus,” he said. “I just wanted to show my gratitude and do whatever I can to help out all the people who are trying to keep us safe.”

The donated beverages will go out to first responders and their support networks in hospitals and healthcare systems, like the UCLA Medical Center and the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Northwell Health in New York City and the Mercy Medical Center in Ohio.

In addition, Purity Organic has announced they will donate two cases of organic beverages to local COVID-19 relief organizations with every online customer purchase, using the code “DONATE.”

“Thank you to Trippie for this donation [and] to the brave men and women working in our hospitals,” Purity Organic CEO Mary Page Platerink said in the release. “Trippie is my son’s favorite artist, and I love the example he is setting with this donation. We are delighted to have Trippie as part of the Purity Organic and Sweet Leaf Tea Family.”

Trippie is one of many hip hop artists who have offered help to healthcare workers since the start of the pandemic. Last month, Cardi B donated over 20,000 vegan meal supplement drinks to hospital professionals in the New York City area. Likewise, back in March, Lizzo sent out free lunches to frontline workers across the country.
