The rumored Verzuz battle between Diddy and Dr. Dre might actually be happening. On Friday (April 24), Fat Joe shared a snippet from his Instagram video series, “The Fat Joe Show,” where he interviewed the Bad Boy Entertainment founder, who said he’s in talks with Dre about making the battle a reality.

“We’re definitely talking about it,” Diddy told Joe. “You heard it here. You heard it here on the show.”

With Diddy’s discography boasting hits like “I’ll Be Missing You” with Faith Evans and 112, The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Mo Money Mo Problems,” “Shake Ya Tailfeather,” “Bad Boys For Life” and more, and with Dre’s “Nuthin’ But A G Thang,” “The Next Episode,” “Still Dre,” “Forgot About Dre” among others, this potential battle would be the ultimate East-Meets-West Coast throwdown.

Swizz Beatz, who launched the Verzuz series alongside Timbaland, initially proposed the idea on Instagram Live.

“We need Dr. Dre versus P. Diddy Pay-per-view for the culture. Let’s bring the two kings in and give back to the people. This is a give back to the people,” Swizz said, adding that the virtual showdown could be billed as a “UFC-style pay-per-view” event.

So far, neither parties have confirmed the Verzuz session, but Diddy’s remarks sound promising. In the meantime, fans can get ready for Three 6 Mafia and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s upcoming battle, which is set to go down on Thursday night (April 30).

Krayzie Bone and DJ Paul — who will each represent their respective groups — announced the virtual event on Monday (April 27).

“Allow Me To Introduce You To The Face Off!!!” DJ Paul had written on Instagram. “This Is Not A Battle. This Is A Celebration Between Homies of Over 50 yrs Combined Dropping Slap!!! Limited Merch For This Event Will Be Available So Save That Stimmy Check! ..This Thursday On My IG Live!!!”
