Usher season is steadily approaching. Even with everyone currently quarantined, the legendary singer digitally invites us all out to his mansion party in his new visual for “Don’t Waste My Time,” which features fellow R&B star Ella Mai. The Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox-produced effort sees the duo singing to each other about being in the moment during a late night and subsequent morning:

“My mind was changed, I’m glad you made it, intoxicated, your vibe’s amazing/

Feel the love in the air, baby, you know/

Ain’t no rush, we’ve been at it, where the time go?/

You gon’ end up showin’ me now, ‘cause I done had one too many drinks/

And I know that you feel me the way I been feelin’ you…/”

The accompanying visual is directed by Lesean Harris and sees the party in full swing, complete with cameos from Dupri, Cox, Snoop Dogg, King Combs, Eric Bellinger, a hilarious Jamie Kennedy, Evan Ross and more. It’s a great vibe full of beautiful people — the type of vibe we all hope to return to once the pandemic finally disappears.

“Don’t Waste My Time” was initially revealed late last year and will presumably land on Usher’s forthcoming ninth studio album, which may or may not be titled Confessions 2. Last month, he blessed fans with a teaser performance of “Confessions III” during a Cricket Lounge event, which generated a lot of response from social media due to its raw and dramatic subject matter:

In related news, Ella Mai was recently selected as John Legend’s advisor on the singing competition show “The Voice,” which sees her joining the Jonas Brothers, Bebe Rexha and Dua Lipa.

Hopefully, we can get more from Usher soon. In the meantime, you can press play on the groovy “Don’t Waste My Time” below, which is available on all major platforms.
