Nicki Minaj has made history yet again. The Queen star recently became the first female rapper to amass a net worth of over $100 million, making her the wealthiest female MC ever.

Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment — which houses artists like Minaj, Lil Twist and Mack Maine — shared the news on Twitter.

“Nicki Minaj has become the first female rapper in history to amass a $100 million net worth,” the label tweeted.

With a career spanning over a decade, it’s a well-deserved milestone for the Queens-bred rapper. So far this year, Minaj has teamed up with Meghan Trainor on “Nice to Meet Ya” and released her own song, “Yikes.” The latter marked her first solo single since 2019’s “Megatron,” which she followed up with her PnB Rock and Murda Beatz collaboration, “Fendi.”

After startling fans with her abrupt retirement notice, Minaj later explained that hesitation toward a new album had driven her announcement.

“So, it was really about the fifth album,” she told The Shade Room. “Where do I stand with it, I didn’t know my fans were going to act like that with the tweet, and it hurt my feelings. I felt like the way I did it was like insensitive to my fans, I didn’t know it was going to be that big of a deal… But you know what, I’m a human being and sometimes in the middle of all this chaos, you’re a woman, you’re a human being, you have feelings, you may speak out of term.”

During the conversation, she also revealed she’d recently collaborated with Gunna and DaBaby, adding they’d need to “return that favor.” Additionally, during her Pollstar Live Q&A last month, she offered a few other hints on the project.

“I feel like albums should be a surprise, sonically, what people can expect,” she said. “But [fans] can expect to feel like, okay, Nicki’s in a good place. That’s what I’ll say about that.”

As of right now, Minaj hasn’t announced an official album or release date. Revisit her latest single “Yikes” below.
