New York singer-songwriter Diana Gordon continues to push the boundaries of music in regards to her unique and steadily evolving sound. For her latest, she delivers a new single titled “Rollin,” a powerful record that mixes together elements from alternative rock and hip hop. On the track, Gordon sings about being “young, rich, and alive,” removing inhibitions and living each day to the fullest:

Via press release, Diana Gordon — further explained the supercharged release, which sees production from BNJMN, NoiseClub, Smash David and Wallis Lane:

“When I wrote this record, all I could think about was the live show. It took me back to singing in the choir at my church in Jamaica, Queens. The culture of moshing feels a lot like the culture of black church. People shaking off them demons.”

Previously, Diana wrote and performed under the moniker Wynter Gordon, crafting iconic hits with and for Mary J. Blige, Ciara, Diplo, Chloe x Halle, Mark Ronson and more. She was a major part of Beyoncé’s sixth studio album Lemonade, earning writing and production credits on tracks like “Don’t Hurt Yourself” (which samples Led Zeppelin’s “When the Levee Breaks”), “Sorry,” and “Daddy Lessons.” Months later, she decided to shed “Wynter” and use her real name, reportedly after receiving advice from Beyoncé during those recording sessions.
