Summer Walker’s critically acclaimed debut album Over It has been officially certified platinum. According to Chart Data, the record has moved over one million units in the US, earning it the prestigious ranking.

Walker took to Instagram on Sunday (Feb. 16) to celebrate the achievement and thank her fans.

“PLATINUM,” she wrote. “Thanks so much guys. This is how my life goes lol every time I take a L I get a W.”

Over It was released last October and featured collaborations with Bryson Tiller, Usher, 6LACK, PartyNextDoor, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Jhené Aiko and Drake on the “Girls Need Love (Remix).” The record went on to break Beyonce’s Lemonade streaming record and peaked on the Billboard 200 chart at the No. 2 spot.

Furthermore, Over It became the second-most streamed album by any R&B artist ever, following behind The Weeknd’s Starboy. Last year also saw Walker win big at the BET Soul Train Awards with the Best New Artist Award.

Walker previously thanked her fans for her 2019 success on Instagram.

“Beyond Blessed,” she wrote. “My whole life changed in a year & a half, like literally year ago I was scrubbing toilets and stripping. I’m now damn near financially free with a paid off house & car with out a care in the world, and it’s all cause of y’all so thank you.”

Over It was followed by Walker’s First And Last Tour, which ended up being mostly canceled due to her social anxiety.

“Hey y’all as you know, I have been very open about my struggle with social anxiety,” she previously informed fans on Twitter. “I want to continue to be healthy and to make music for y’all, so I have decided to cut down some of the dates on the tour. I’m grateful for every single one of you. I hope that you understand.”

Most recently, Walker released a remixed version of Justin Bieber’s “Yummy” and was featured on A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s Artist 2.0.
