The country is in mourning after the tragic loss of NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, who were killed Sunday afternoon (Jan. 26) in a private helicopter crash in Calabazas, CA. A basketball coach and his wife and daughter and another basketball coach also perished in the crash.

As fans and friends look for ways to honor the late athlete, Boosie Badazz took to Instagram to call for the NBA to change their logo.

“Rest in peace Kobe, man. This shit’s sad, dawg,” he said in an Instagram video on Sunday (Jan. 26). “Shit’s fu*ked up. It’s only right, dawg, it’s only right that the NBA take Jerry West off the logo and put Kobe Bryant on the logo, man. That’s only right. Fu*k that, you gotta put Kobe Bryant on the NBA logo.”

Bryant was also remembered throughout last night’s Grammys (Jan. 26), starting with a special opening tribute by host Alicia Keys.

“Here we are together, on music’s biggest night, celebrating the artists that do it best,” she addressed the Los Angeles Staples Center crowd. “But to be honest with you, we’re all feeling crazy sadness right now, because earlier today, Los Angeles, America and the whole wide world lost a hero, and we’re literally standing here, heartbroken, in the house that Kobe Bryant built.”

Keys and Boyz II Men sang a special rendition of “It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday” in the basketball player’s honor. Bryant’s Los Angeles Lakers jersey also appeared in several other performances throughout the night and his picture was broadcast next to Nipsey Hussle’s during the late rapper’s tribute.
