Authorities believe the white Mercedes that was used in the killing of Young Dolph was also used in a separate shooting that left one woman dead and another injured in Convington, Tennesse.

The double shooting took place on Nov. 12 after a football game, according to Captain Jack Howell of the Covington Police Department. The vehicle was stolen in a carjacking on Nov. 10, however, police do not know if those involved in the Dolph shooting were the same people who stole the car.

As REVOLT previously reported, the “Preach” rapper was fatally shot while purchasing cookies at a local Black-owned business in his hometown of Memphis on Nov. 17.

Surveillance footage from the incident showed two masked gunmen firing their guns into Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies as Dolph stood inside the business. The suspects then fled in a white Mercedes.

Over the weekend, that same Mercedes was found at an abandoned home in the Orange Mound neighborhood of South Memphis. Authorities confiscated the vehicle and several images of the car being towed away were posted to social media. “I understand social media is buzzing, however, nothing additional is available at this time. Once additional info is available to share, trust and believe that we will get that information to you,” said Sgt. Louis Brownlee, an MPD spokesperson.

Since Dolph’s death, residents of Memphis and the rapper’s fans have raised over $85,000 for Makeda’s Cookies. The funds will be used for the bakery’s employees while the business remains closed. The money will also go towards repairs, including replacing the storefront window that was broken when the gunmen fired shots into the building.

Maurice and Pamela Hill, owners of Makeda’s, will also use some of the donations to provide grief counseling for the employees who are now traumatized after witnessing Dolph’s death.
