Earlier this week, news broke that T-Pain and Lil Jon were going head-to-head in an Instagram Live battle tonight (April 4). Needless to say, it went down and it was, indeed, legendary.

The music fight started off on a high note – no, for real – when T-Pain came out the gate swinging with Kanye West’s “Good Life,” which he is featured on. As soon as the Nappy Boy dropped this, viewers knew that this battle was going to be one for the books. Lil Jon — being the legend he also is – knew what time it was immediately after and came with some heat of his very own.

The two would go back and worth throughout the night. From Jon playing hits like “Lovers and Friends,” “Blow The Whistle,” “Lean Back (Remix),” “Gasolina (Remix)” and more to Pain countering with jams like “Buy U A Drank,” “Bartender,” and “Got Money,” the two music heavyweights went toe-to-toe with 20 songs a piece.

Everyone watching the battle was living for it. Some of the many celebs who were tuned in included Swizz Beatz, Timbaland, Colin Kaepernick, Wiz Khalifa, E-40, Fat Joe, Gabrielle Union, Charlamagne Tha God, Tyrese and so many more. Even the NBA and Netflix pulled up!

But, after each talent finished their war, that wasn’t even the end of their IG fun. The two decided to continue playing songs that didn’t count in their fight. That’s when Jon threw a major curveball by playing an unreleased, never-before-heard song by himself, Ludacris and Usher! Can you say “Lovers and Friends” part two?

“You want fucking R&B?!” Jon yelled at the screen when it started playing. Pain even joked, “All the niggas who play the keys in the chat right now,” referencing the piano keys that were in the beginning of it, while adding, “You tell Usher to put a shirt on his goddamn abs and chest…”

The ATL DJ/producer revealed that he had to beg Usher to allow him to play the song – which they surprisingly made two years ago — during the IG Live, as well. Listen to a snippet of it below.

Shout out to T-Pain and Lil Jon. The culture needed this. See some Twitter reactions to their IG Live battle below.
