In hopes to raise people’s spirits during recent times, Lil Duval has released a new flip on a feel-good classic, and has recruited none other than T.I. to be his co-pilot. Set to the unmistakable rhythm of Bobby McFerrin’s classic song “Don’t Worry Be Happy,” Lil Duval raps about the current state of the world while he interpolates the song’s widely recognized hook:

“Here’s a song Bobby McFerrin wrote, you might want to sing it not for note. Don’t worry, be happy. It’s 2020 and we having trouble, but when you sit and worry you make it double. Don’t worry, be happy.”

Before its official release, Lil Duval took to Instagram to let fans know it was okay to wait until the morning to press play on his new song, hilariously acknowledging he knew everyone would be busy listening to 21 Savage’s new album instead. “Video drop at noon but y’all can go download the song now and listen to it in morning,” he writes. “Cuz I know right now y’all listening to @21savage. Link in my bio #dontworrybehappy.”

Since T.I.’s release of 2018’s Dime Trap, the Atlanta legend stayed occupied guiding undiscovered talent on the hit Netflix show Rhythm & Flow. To add to his already prolific list of on-camera work, T.I. also starred in the RZA-directed film Cut Throat City since then. Most recently, he linked up with fellow ATL rapper Young Thug for the release of their newest collab single “Ring” back in September.

In his episode of REVOLT’s Drink Champs, T.I. shared a bit about his project, Dime Trap:

“Trap music, that’s the lifestyle that we have showcased to the world, it has become so prevalent to today. It’s actually the 15th anniversary of Trap Muzik, August 19th, so I wanted to do something that was commemorative to trap music, like, the evolution of trap music and that’s where I came up with Dime Trap.”
