‘Certified Lover Boy’ is projected to sell between 575,000 and 625,000 album equivalent units its first week.

Drake’s sixth studio album Certified Lover Boy has already smashed several streaming records and it’s on track to see an even more successful debut sales week.

According to Hits Daily Double, the 21-song LP is projected to sell between 575,000 and 625,000 album equivalent units within its first week out. This would give Drizzy the biggest album debut week of 2021. Last year, the record was held by Taylor Swift, whose 2020 album Folklore grossed 846,000 units within its first week.

Drake’s debut week will also include between 45,000 and 55,000 albums sold, Complex writes. According to Chart Data, Certified Lover Boy is also expected to draw somewhere between 650 million and 700 million streams by the end of this week.

“Drake’s Certified Lover Boy [is] headed for #1 debut on the US albums chart with 575-625K first week, over 650 million streams,” Chart Data tweeted on Saturday (Sept. 4). “It will be the biggest debut of the year.”

As reported by REVOLT, Drake broke his own Spotify record this weekend after Certified Lover Boy became the most-streamed album in a single day on the platform. Drizzy previously set the bar with his 2018 LP Scorpion, which garnered 132 million streams in one day. CLB surpassed the number with a whopping 153 million streams.

The Toronto-bred star’s newest output also became the most-streamed album in a single day on Apple Music. Prior to Certified Lover Boy’s Friday (Sept. 3) release, Kanye West held the record with his album, Donda. As reported by REVOLT, Ye’s project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 on Sunday (Sept. 5) after moving 309,000 equivalent album units in its first week. The feat means Kanye is now tied with Eminem for the most consecutive albums to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
