Uncle Luke called out the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this weekend after being left out of the organization's 2021 class of inductees. The 2 Live Crew rapper and southern hip hop pioneer lamented about not being recognized with the prestigious honor for yet “another year” on Instagram.

“Shit another year of not getting inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame,” he wrote, adding, “Unbelievable.”

To be eligible for Hall of Fame induction, an artist’s debut work has to be at least 25 years old. 2 Live Crew released their debut album The 2 Live Crew Is What We Are in 1986, which means they’ve been eligible for induction for the past 10 years.

The Miami-based group released a total of eight albums throughout the 80s and 90s, including Move Somethin’, As Nasty as They Wanna Be and Banned in the U.S.A., the latter of which was the first album to don a Parental Advisory sticker from the Recording Industry Association of America.

Although Uncle Luke has yet to be recognized by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the 60-year-old rap veteran was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards. At the time, he reflected on the honor in an Instagram post.

“Here it is Ladies and Gentlemen my iamhiphop Lifetime Achievement Award from the Entertainment Industry that I love so much but have always been snubbed,” he wrote. “I came straight home to show my son Blake but he was sleep. I’ve been waiting 35 years for this I want to thank new boss at #bet Connie Orlando Jesse Collins Debra Lee for this Honor.”

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced its 2021 inductees earlier this month. JAY-Z, who just became eligible for induction this year, is among the 2021 class, as well as Tina Turner, LL Cool J and more.
