Today (April 23) marks the 5th anniversary of the release of Beyoncé’s sixth studio album Lemonade. The critically acclaimed LP featured several hit songs, including “Sorry,” “Formation,” “Don’t Hurt Yourself,” “Hold Up,” “Love Drought,” “6 Inch” and “Freedom.”

Lemonade peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and went on to become the best-selling album of 2016. The project also became the first to garner 100 million streams and was the first album by a female artist in history to have all of its tracks chart on the Hot 100 at the same time.

The LP was also accompanied by visuals for each track that premiered in a film on HBO. Almost 800,000 people tuned in to watch the hour-long movie on television before it transitioned to TIDAL.

Today, fans are sharing their favorite tracks and videos from the visual album on social media under the hashtag #5YearsofLemonade.

Twitter user @billkinminaj wrote, “Happy 5th birthday #Lemonade. Literally the best album of all time. From awards and accolades to cultural impact and longevity, you changed the music industry. Beyoncé fully cemented herself as a global icon and Grammy’s still shit for not giving her (Album of the Year).”

“Five years ago today, Lemonade changed the world,” tweeted @freeblackgirl. “What a beautiful ode it remains to Southern Black womanhood, healing, sisterhood, and reconciliation with our families and ourselves. Beyoncé changed the game, again, and it has never been the same.”
