Piers Morgan stormed off the set of his own television show this morning (March 9) after a coworker challenged the controversial comments he made about Meghan Markle’s mental health. During a live recording of “Good Morning Britain,” weatherman Alex Beresford confronted the English TV personality about his remarks.

“They have had an overwhelming amount of negative press,” Beresford said about Meghan and Harry, whose tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey aired yesterday (March 8).

“Yes, they had some great press around the wedding… but there was bad press around the engagement, before the engagement and everything that has followed since has been incredibly damaging, quite clearly, to Meghan’s mental health also to Harry,” Beresford continued.

“I understand you don’t like Meghan Markle. You’ve made it so clear a number of times on this program, a number of times,” he said to Piers. “And I understand you’ve got a personal relationship with Meghan Markle or you had one and she cut you off. She’s entitled to cut you off if she wants to. Has she said anything about you since she cut you off? I don’t think she has and yet you continue to trash her.”

That was all it took for Piers to abruptly exit the show.

“I’m done with this,” he said as he stormed out of the room.

Beresford reacted to Piers’ sudden departure by saying, “Pathetic. Absolutely diabolical behavior. I’m sorry but Piers spouts off on a regular basis and we all have to sit there and listen.”

Piers was met with heavy criticism yesterday after he cast doubt on Meghan’s mental health struggles, her thoughts of suicide and the allegations she made against the royal family concerning her son’s skin tone. The TV host discredited Meghan’s emotional interview as the “acting performance of her life” that was “designed to portray her as the ultimate victim.”
