Drake emerged as the real hero of last night’s (Feb. 7) Super Bowl LV after making an appearance as “Drake from State Farm” in a State Farm commercial. The “Life Is Good” rapper surprised fans when he casually debuted as Jake from State Farm’s commercial “double.”

“That’s right, Drake from State Farm,” Drake says with a smile before the real Jake reminds the Toronto star he isn’t supposed to speak. The commercial aired between the first and second quarter of the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers face-off, and also starred quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes, Paul Rudd and Adrian Martinez.

After it aired, fans quickly took to Twitter to share their surprise, jokes and declare it as the best commercial of the Super Bowl.

“‘Drake from State Farm’ already platinum,” one Twitter user joked.

“Find someone that looks at you like Drake from State Farm looks at Jake from State Farm,” another fan wrote, referring to Drizzy’s hilariously awkward gaze that closed out the ad.

Drake’s cameo for the insurance giant isn’t his first time appearing in a Super Bowl commercial. Back in 2016, the rap star was featured in a T-Mobile ad, which played off the video for his mega-hit “Hotline Bling.”

Besides his loud apple-crunching, another thing that stood out in Drake’s newest ad was the heart-shaped cutout on his hair, which he got for his forthcoming album, Certified Lover Boy. The record was initially set for a January release, but was postponed due to Drake’s recent knee injury.

“I was planning to release my album this month but between surgery and rehab my energy has been dedicated to recovery,” he announced on his Instagram Story. “I’m blessed to be back on my feet feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won’t be dropping in January. I’m looking forward to sharing it with you all in 2021.”
