Multiple news outlets are reporting that Atlanta, Georgia rapper 6 Dogs has passed away. He was only 21 years old.

The late recording artist, whose real name was Chase Amick, was mostly known for his songs “Faygo Dreams,” “Guccy Armor,” “Someone,” “Flossing,” and more. He actually got his start on SoundCloud by uploading music to the streaming app. The star did this secretly at first due to his Christian faith. Dogs would eventually grow a fanbase and get signed to Interscope Records in 2016. In November 2019, he dropped his album Hi-Hats & Heartaches, and just a couple of months ago, the rapper told his fans that he had new music on the way.

After learning of his passing, many on social media posted tributes to the fallen artist. Benny Blanco tweeted: “He may have been ur favorite rapper 6dogs… but to me he was one of the kindest, toe painting, star gazing, art making, day dreaming, thoughtful, warmest souls I had ever met… the way u made us laugh and the ridiculous stories u would tell…”

Lil Aaron also added: “Rip 6 dogs. real underground legend. made it all the way to benny blanco off of some internet rap songs. forever the goat.”

“6 dogs was one of the nicest people I ever had the pleasure of talking to,” Gwen Stacy even wrote. “One of the only people who never changed when the clout came. he will forever be a part of my life and memories. So down to earth. So encouraging. So based. Rest in paradise.”

Though there have been rumors of Dogs passing away by way of suicide, none of these reports have been confirmed.

The rapper contracted COVID-19 in 2020, which caused him to push back the release of some of his music. “I’m str8 just a pretty bad headache. I’m a healthy dood tho so I should b fine,” he said at the time. “Unfortunately this will put a delay on the album thx for rockin w me y’all.”
