Ashanti and Keyshia Cole fans are warming up their vocals and planning their outfits because tonight (Jan. 21) the R&B pair will finally go head-to-head on Verzuz. Ahead of the highly anticipated event, Ashanti stoked fans’ excitement on Instagram, where she shared a video compilation of her hits, performances and awards.

“Y’all ready???” the former Murder Inc. songstress wrote.

Keyshia and Ashanti’s Verzuz battle has been postponed twice. It was initially scheduled to go down in December, but Ashanti fell ill with COVID-19.

“Hey y’all I can’t believe I’m saying this but I tested positive for COVID-19,” she previously revealed to fans. “I’m ok and not in any pain.”

Thankfully, a few weeks later, Ashanti confirmed that she had recovered from the virus and the battle was back on. However, Verzuz organizers ended up delaying the event again, while they worked to make the series more pandemic-friendly.

“… As COVID-19 numbers continue to increase, safety is a top priority for us,” a statement from Verzuz’s Instagram read. “As much as we enjoy having everyone together in the same room, to protect the artists and everyone who works with us in putting the shows together, we’ll be going back to separate locations for a bit.”

Since the battle has been postponed twice, some fans were understandably wary ahead of tonight’s festivities.

“Ashanti and Keyshia Cole better make sure this VERZUZ get done today,” one Twitter user wrote.

Most, however, hopped on social media to share each singer’s respective hits and wager what tonight’s outcome will be.

“If Keyshia Cole performs ‘Heaven Sent’ on that Verzuz battle, Ashanti might as well walk off stage,” one fan tweeted.

Ashanti got better hits then [sic] Keyshia Cole being honest,” wrote another.

Tune in to Verzuz tonight at 5 p.m. PST / 8 p.m. EST to watch it all go down. See Ashanti and others’ posts below.
