Bobby Shmurda could be returning home as soon as next month, and his mother is counting down the days until his release. On Monday (Jan. 11), Leslie Pollard hopped on Instagram to celebrate her son’s potential early release from prison and tease his fans, who are anticipating his return to the rap game.

“My [Man Crush Monday]… I am counting down just wishing we could run straight to February right quick,” she wrote in the post’s caption.

Pollard revealed that she has high expectations for Shmurda’s return to hip hop, writing that her son’s “comeback [will] be epic!”

“I can’t wait to hug my child,” she added. “It ha[s] been almost a year, anxiety is getting the best of me.”

Earlier this month, REVOLT reported that Shmurda was eligible for conditional release on Feb. 23. Despite being denied parole this past September, his credit for good behavior was restored by the New York State Department of Corrections, granting him eligibility for early release as long as no other legal incidents occur. Shmurda would then serve out the remainder of his sentence, which is set to end in December, on parole.

Shmurda was sentenced to seven years in prison in 2016 after pleading guilty to conspiracy and weapons possession charges. The 26-year-old was arrested along with his collaborator and friend Rowdy Rebel, who was freed last month.

Speaking with XXL, Rebel said he plans on “getting [his] team right” this year.

“Once I get the team right, we gon’ get together,” he said. “Everybody that’s gon’ be on this team gon’ serve a purpose… And once we drop one time, ain’t no turning back.”

“We gon’ keep it going… I got a couple artists that’s dope. And once I flame on, Bobby’s coming home in a few,” he added. “Don’t even trip. Ain’t nothing change. We still the waviest.”
