Despite some false reports that circulated over the weekend about Ice-T allegedly dying, the rap legend is — thankfully — alive and well. On Saturday (Jan. 9), Ice-T took to Twitter to respond to the rumors himself and let fans know that he is very much alive.

“My friend just call and said he read on the net that I died… Wow.. That’s news to me,” he wrote.

In another tweet, Ice-T shared a screenshot of the source that started the false rumors — a YouTube account called “Real-Cool News.” A quick search for the account shows that it mainly publishes false reports about celebrities’ deaths.

“Lol… I promise to let ya’ll know if I die…” Ice joked.

The Los Angeles native will turn 63 years old this year and recently celebrated a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance with his band, Body Count. The metal ensemble released their well-received album, Carnivore, last year.

In other Ice-T news, the Gangsta Rap spitter reacted to the chaos on Capitol Hill — like the rest of America — while watching the events unfold on Wednesday (Jan. 6).

“Well 2021 Amerikkka is definitely starting off with a bang.. Wow,” he captioned one photo of a pro-Tump rioter carrying a Confederate flag through Capitol halls.

“You can’t make this shit up… Crazy,” he added.

Ice-T also compared cops’ and the National Guard’s response to the insurrection to the heavily-policed Black Lives Matter protests over the summer.

“Just imagine for a second if BLM tried this BS.. Just sayin,” he wrote. “… Shit is Wild…. I wonder if ANYBODY is even gonna go to jail.. smh.”

On Sunday (Jan. 10), REVOLT reported that a Capitol Police officer had died by suicide one day after the chaos, bringing the total number of fatalities from the riot to six people. It was previously reported that another Capitol Police officer, Brian Sicknick, and four Trump supporters had passed away during the deadly attack.
