Lil Nas X has achieved another historic milestone thanks to his debut single.

On Saturday (Jan. 9), the “Panini” artist hit up his Twitter account to celebrate “Old Town Road” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus going 14 times Platinum. According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the song has racked up over 14 million in equivalent song units since its initial release in December 2018. Four months later, Nas X dropped the official remix to the song with country legend Billy Ray Cyrus, which went on to make history on the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts for 19 consecutive weeks.

“OLD TOWN ROAD IS OFFICIALLY 14 TIMES PLATINUM! MOST PLATINUMS FOR ANY SONG EVER! LETS GOOO!” Lil Nas X tweeted.

Soon after the announcement, Billy Ray himself hopped on Twitter to congratulate the “Rodeo” artist. “Incredible,” Cyrus tweeted. “I’m speechless. #OTR is now 14x platinum and the most certified song in music history. THANK YOU!”

After the “Old Town Road” craze died down, Lil Nas X announced that he was taking a short break from music. During that time, Nas X dropped the remix to “Rodeo” featuring Nas, and dominated the Grammy Award stage with a viral performance. He also appeared on HBO’s “The Shop” with Lebron James and spoke up about how he decided to come out.

Then, back in November, Lil Nas X made a comeback with his new song “Holiday” produced by Tay Keith. Along with the single, he also dropped the mind-boggling visual for the song. In the video, Lil Nas X transforms into a drunken Santa who flies in a sleigh through a psychedelic wormhole. It also features a brief cameo from legendary actor Michael J. Fox.

Along with the historic achievement, Lil Nas X is also celebrating the release of his children’s book C is for Country, which dropped last week.
