Pop Smoke’s former manager Steven Victor has announced a June 12 release date for the late rapper’s first posthumous album. Last week, Victor unveiled his and Pop’s family’s plan to release his posthumous music throughout this year.

“Bashar ‘Pop Smoke’ Jackson — so genuine, bright, loving, and so full of promise. A rare soul, wise beyond his yeas whose smile, voice, mere presence would brighten the room,” a joint statement from Victor and the Jackson family read. “He was all the things one could hope for in an artist, friend, leader and partner. Pop’s passing leaves us all broken hearted with a wound that will never heal.”

“The public show of support and grief, by everyone touched by Pop during his lifetime, has provided some semblance of comfort during these difficult times for his family, friends and colleagues,” it continued. “Throughout the next year we will be sharing new music, as we continue to work to build Pop’s legacy. In conjunction with his estate we will be making formal announcements on his foundation and music projects. We love him so much and miss him dearly.”

Earlier this year, 50 Cent teased his involvement in the project. However, no tracklist, official title or album collaborators have been revealed at this time.

Victor also previously confirmed that a documentary about Pop is in the works, although there’s no expected release date yet. During an interview with Complex, Victor announced that he’s also had a hand in the upcoming film.

“I’m working really, really hard on this Pop Smoke album. And I’m working on a documentary for him, too. And his foundation,” he told the outlet.

Pop was tragically killed in February during a home invasion at his house in the Hollywood Hills. The upcoming record will follow up his critically acclaimed mixtapes, Meet the Woo and Meet the Woo 2. See Victor’s Instagram announcement below and what could be the album’s official artwork.
