Tekashi 6ix9ine was offered compassionate release from prison last week and will now serve the remaining four months of his sentence in home confinement. It didn’t take long for the “FEFE” rapper to make his return to social media, where he immediately joked about his infamous pre-prison snitching.

On Sunday (April 5), The Shade Room shared an Instagram post about Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti reportedly offering a monetary reward to residents who rat out businesses that are breaking California’s current shelter-in-place order.

“You know the old expression about snitches, well in this case snitches get rewards,” Garcetti said, according to CBS.

In his first social media action since his release, 6ix9ine hopped in the comments to joke about his own notorious snitching, writing, “Coming to the rescue.”

6ix9ine was released last Thursday (April 2) after Judge Engelmayer accepted his request to be released due to fears about COVID-19. According to 6ix9ine’s lawyer, the rapper suffers from asthma, which could pose a heightened health risk if he were to contract the virus.

6ix9ine’s request for compassionate release was first denied because Englemayer did not initially possess the authority to release him. However, after requesting release and then being denied by the US Bureau of Prisons, the decision over 6ix9ine’s release was back in Englemayer’s court. The judge, who had already professed his sympathy for the rapper, allowed the discharge after the US Attorney’s Office posed no objection.

While in home confinement, 6ix9ine will reportedly be required to wear a GPS monitor at all times and stay at his home address, which has been pre-approved by his probation officer. He’s only be permitted to leave his house to meet with his attorney or if he needs medical attention. To keep busy, 6ix9ine will now reportedly get to work on his $10 million recording deal with 10k Projects and begin recording two albums, one in English and one in Spanish.
