The-Dream’s highly anticipated Sextape 4 album is coming sooner than later.

On Friday (April 3), the producer shared the release date for his upcoming LP to Instagram. In the lengthy caption, he explained that he second guessed moving forward with the project’s release due to Coronavirus. “SXTP4! April 17. Honestly, I didn’t want to put it out with what’s going on in the world and here! I had so many people tel me , NO music is what we need right now more than ever. Love and Blessings to everyone touched by this moment in our lives. 4-17 out EVERYWHERE! @apple @Tidal @Spotify @amazonmusic,” he wrote.

Sextape 4’ s release date announcement came after The-Dream revealed the tracklist last month. The 13-track LP will not feature any guest appearances and will serve as the follow-up to the musician’s triple album, Ménage A Trois: Sextape Vol. 1, 2, 3.

In addition to prepping his album, The-Dream is ensuring that his fans are entertained while practicing social distancing precautionary measures. On March 28, the “Falsetto” singer participated in an epic songwriters battle against Sean Garrett on Instagram Live. During the intense live-streamed moment, Dream previewed an unheard version of JAY-Z’s “Holy Grail” track, which featured his vocals on the chorus instead of Justin Timberlake. Shortly after the battle, the full version of the single released to streaming platforms.

During an interview in 2016, The-Dream opened up about his love of music. He explained that he goes above and beyond with every project that he creates. “I study the songs that were great songs before,” he explained. “OK, all these songs have a great subject matter. All these songs, even without melody, is a great conversation. All these songs have something that my songs need to have every time. There are songs I just write about sex, and it’s just about sex, so it doesn’t matter.”
