Ty Dolla $ign is mourning the loss of his grandmother.

On Saturday (April 25), the singer revealed on his social media account that he lost his grandmother. In his lengthy caption, Ty thanked his grandmother for her unconditional love and support throughout the years.

“My goggie passed this morning!” he wrote without revealing the cause of death. “Without her there would be no me! Thank you for everything, from just being my grandma, helping raise us, letting me have the back room at the house for my studio, and playing my music at all times of night and day tryna find my sound, to giving me your room when @jailynncrystal was born and helping me get on my feet! Didn’t matter who it was, you always looked out for all of our friends as well!”

He continued, “You’d give your last dollar to any of us! I can go on for hours about how great of a soul you are and how much of an impact you made on so many of us! I love you and will hold you close in my heart forever. 1928-2020 you outlived everyone turnt up the whole time.”

Following Ty’s heartfelt note, many fans shared their condolences in the comments section. One fan wrote, “Sorry for your loss, us street kids from L.A. REALLY know who grandma is and what grandma is about. Grandparents are a second chance to do the parenting thing right. @tydollasign, may she be with you at all times.”

Over the last few years, Ty has been quite busy on the music front. The 35-year-old’s viral track, “Something New,” has taken on a life of its own on TikTok. The California native has also released “Dangerous City,” “Fair Chance” and more this year.
