An adorable group of Uganda children who are sponsored by the Masaka Kids Africana nonprofit absolutely slayed Drake’s “Toosie Slide” dance challenge — and the 6 God himself took notice.

On Friday (April 17), the youngsters shared their moves on the Masaka Kids Africana Instagram account. Drake saw the video and asked the account owner if he could repost the clip on his Instagram Story. Once they said yes, the Masaka Kids’ “Toosie Slide” was promoted to Drizzy’s over 65 million Instagram followers.

Masaka Kids Africana founder Suuna Hassan told TMZ on Tuesday (April 21) that he and the kids had cried “tears of joy” when Drake reposted the video. Furthermore, Hassan told the outlet that the organization received 120,000 Instagram followers and hundreds of dollars in donations. As of Wednesday (April 22), the Instagram video has garnered over one million views.

According to the Masaka Kids Africana website, there are over 2.4 million orphans in Uganda — more than anywhere else in the world. The nonprofit provides children with shelter, food, clothing, education and medical care.

“Through dance and song and sharing their love of Uganda, these children connect to each other and the world. They see their own potential — they have hope for their future,” the website adds.

Drake’s “Toosie Slide” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 last week. The single became the OVO boss’ seventh No. 1 hit and made him the first male artist to have three songs debut at the top spot — a feat also shared by Mariah Carey. “Toosie Slide” has since moved down to No. 2 on the chart, behind The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights.”

The track’s viral dance challenge also beat a record on TikTok. On Friday (April 17), TMZ reported that the “Toosie Slide” dance had reached a 10-figure benchmark on the social media app and that the #ToosieSlide hashtag had reached a billion views in two days — an accolade that topped Kylie Jenner’s “Rise & Shine.”
