After teasing an impending release for his highly anticipated album Eternal Atake, Lil Uzi Vert dropped off the project’s latest single, “That Way.” Co-produced by Yung Lan, Felipe S and Supah Mario, the track interpolates the Backstreet Boys’ 1999 hit, “I Want It That Way.” The catchy single subsequently caught the attention of group member Nick Carter, who promptly invited Uzi to appear on the next Backstreet Boys album.

“OMG ! Freaking LOVE [Lil Uzi Vert],” Carter tweeted on Sunday (March 1). “[Lil Uzi Vert] now you’re gonna have to be featured on our next album bud.”

The Philadelphia-bred rapper accepted the praise on Tuesday (March 2), tweeting, “Thanks Nick.”

“That Way” is expected to appear on Eternal Atake, which will serve as a follow-up to Uzi’s 2017 LP, Luv Is Rage 2. Last year saw the release of several one-off singles from the rapper, including “That’s a Rack,” “Sanguine Paradise,” “Show U Off” with Lud Foe and his hit “Futsal Shuffle 2020.”

At the end of last month, Uzi announced during an Instagram Live session that Eternal Atake would arrive in two weeks, putting the album’s drop date at March 13. He later teased on Twitter that when Rihanna drops R9, he’ll drop Eternal Atake.

Initially announced in 2018, the album has suffered several delays, which Uzi has blamed on issues with his record label. The rapper previously expressed discontent with his label Generation Now, before changing management hands to Roc Nation.

During his Lil Uzi Vert & Friends concert last year, he revealed to the audience that Eternal Atake was complete.

“I know y’all wondering when I’ma drop my album,” he told fans. “I’m finally done with that joint.”

However, Uzi has yet to reveal an Eternal Atake tracklist or make a formal announcement about the album’s release date.
