Ice-T is mourning the sudden loss of a “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” crew member due to Coronavirus.

“SVU” showrunner Warren Leight shared the news on Twitter. “Very sad news today,” Leight tweeted. “One of our customers, and a beautiful man, Josh Wallwork, passed away from complications of Covid-19. Cast and crew send love and prayers to his family and friends. We are heartbroken.”

Wallwork, who worked in the costume and wardrobe department on “SVU,” died from Coronavirus-related complications.

Ice retweeted Leight’s tweet and said, “I worked with Josh every day… MAN! Pay attention people. #SVU.”

Ice’s co-star, Mariska Hargitay, also paid tribute to Wallwork on social media.

“Heartbroken we are,” she wrote. “I don’t think I ever saw him without a smile on his face. He brought love and kindness everywhere he went. Always ready with the joke. The SVU Corrender will never be the same. We will miss you Josh. #ForeverInOurHearts.”

The United States currently has more cases of confirmed COVID-19 than any other country in the world. According to the latest report from the CDC, there are currently over 85,000 cases in the U.S. There have been over 1,200 deaths from COVID-19 in this country.

In New York, where “Law & Order: SVU” is filmed, there are almost 39,000 cases of COVID-19 reported. It is the leading state with Coronavirus cases. Governor Cuomo has placed New York on a stay at home order. One hundred percent of the workforce must stay home, unless they are deemed essential. All non-essential gatherings of any size for any reason have been banned. Everyone is required to maintain a six foot distance away from others while in public. Testing for the virus is free for all eligible New Yorkers.
