Josie Harris — Floyd Mayweather’s ex-girlfriend and the mother of three of his children — has passed away. According to a report by TMZ, 40-year-old Harris was found unresponsive inside her car near her home in Valencia, CA on Tuesday night (March 10). Officals were reportedly called to the house around 9:30 p.m. PST and, after finding her unresponsive in the car, pronounced Harris dead at the scene.

On Wednesday (March 11), the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that they are actively investigating her death. Currently, law enforcement has informed TMZ that they don’t believe Harris’ passing to be the result of any foul play. Therefore, officials are treating the ongoing case as an investigation into her death, rather than as a homicide.

Mayweather and Harris reportedly dated between 1995 and 2010. The former boxer was convicted on a domestic violence charge in 2010 after Harris accused him of attacking her at her Las Vegas home. Mayweather subsequently served two months in prison for the charge. Following his release, Mayweather spoke about the incident during a 2015 interview with Katie Couric, where he claimed that Harris had been using drugs. After the interview aired, Harris sued Mayweather for defamation, seeking $20 million. The lawsuit is ongoing and had a trial date scheduled for Dec. 7.

Beyond her relationship with Mayweather, Harris was also an actress. She was featured in the 2006 film Exit 38 and the TLC reality series “Starter Wives Confidential.” According to The Sun, she also worked as an entrepreneur, heading her own line of infant products called, Nappiesaks. Furthermore, Harris had been in the process of writing a book about her domestic abuse experiences in an effort to help fellow survivors.

Harris is survived by her and Mayweather’s children, 20-year-old Koraun, 18-year-old Zion Shamaree and 16-year-old Jirah. So far, Mayweather has not released a public statement about her death.
